Kronos Quartet | Foxey/Foxy Lady

Akin to a "beneficial mutation" this flourish of "Foxy Lady" is a piece of bizarre natural history. Contrastingly, unlike a mutation the predetermined changes, heard, in this rendition of "Foxy Lady" evokes the "wow!" factor; hence, "...when we see [hear] something spectacular or exquisite, we are typically looking at [hearing] an adaptation. And what underpins adaptation is the appearance [euphony] and spread of beneficial mutations: the process is not possible without them."

++Per SF | In the booklet for the Experience Hendrix CD, Jimi Hendrix is quoted as saying Foxy Lady was the only happy song he had ever written. He said that he usually just doesn't feel happy when writing songs.
The song title has two alternate spellings: "Foxey Lady" (for release in the US) and "Foxy Lady" (for release in the UK).
Hendrix recorded this on December 13, 1966. That same day, he made his first TV appearance on the British show Ready Steady Go. His group The Jimi Hendrix Experience had been together only 2 months at that point, but things moved very quickly - three days later, their first single, "Hey Joe" was released.
